Let’s Talk English
Camberwell Baptist Church offers free English conversation classes, led by trained tutors, on Saturday mornings, 10.00-11.30am, during school terms, to anyone for whom English is a second language. These classes are currently held at the church and online.
We offer beginners, intermediate and advanced classes. We want to help our learners with spoken and written English. We also offer opportunities to make friends.
Each week we begin with conversation together. This is a great time for practicing conversational English and getting to know new people. We encourage people to arrive by 10.00am and take the opportunity of practicing their English.
Social events are run at various times during the year where learners are introduced to cultural aspects of Australian life.
Learners can choose to join the weekly Simple English Bible Class, known as Open Doors, which is held every Thursday evening from 7 – 9pm during school terms. Currently we are holding this class online only.
There is also a Mandarin speaking Bible Study also online, for those who want to find out more about the Christian faith.
There is always a welcome and open invitation to worship with us on Sunday mornings at 10am.
